Do you Blog?

Posted on: September 2, 2009

One thing I’ve learned is blogging is a great way to express your opinions;  and at the same time let people get to know you and your special talent.  It is a cost effective way to market yourself, business, service or product.   So why is it so many small buisness owners do not have a Blog?  Hmm – Most likely because it takes time to figure out the functionality and time is money, so they say.

It seems like ages ago since I first designed my Blog.   After much trial and error I actually became very good at it, so good in fact that others sought me out to help with their Blog.   As stated, setting up a Blog takes time, a person has to familiarize themselves with the software and some of the features are not user friendly.  After all it is free  and “beggars can’t be choosers”.  But once you discover the loopholes “beggars can be a little choosy”.   Below are a  few samples of the Blogs I designed:

I helped a young man with his personal Blog, he was eager to get started.  With a little help from me he is now Blogging away.   Here is what he had to say:

“Thank you for taking the time to help me………..I wrote my first blog. Here’s the site: http://teenperspective9.wordpress.com/

If you’re a business owner just starting out a Blog can replace the immediate need for a website.  Websites cost money and take time to launch unless you create it yourself, there again it takes time and know how.  So go for a Blog, once the business takes off then re-visit the website question.   For those who have a website, link your Blog to it and whola instant online newsletter.

Blogging is fun once you get the hang of it and a cost effective marketing tool.   Of course, once you create a Blog then the question becomes “How do I market my Blog?” – well, as I learned, there are many ways to do it – but then that’s a topic for another day – Stay tuned…..
